Easter Weekend in Kelowna

My family has a tendency to plan last minute trip away on long weekends and this Easter was no different. The week before the Easter long weekend, my mom sent me an email for a Hotel reservation for the upcoming long weekend in Kelowna. For someone who has lived in BC most of their life, for some reason, my memory has blacked out the times I went to Okanagan. The only semi-recent memory I have of Kelowna was having an over night layover there before flying to Cabo a few years ago. So, needless to say, I was excited. We left Thursday afternoon after work and got there at about 10:30/11 at night. The next morning when I woke up, I didn't feel so great which wasn't a very good start to the day. We got some coffee and began our day. We headed over to Quail's Gate Winery and did a few tastings. Then we had an awesome lunch at their restaurant. Honestly, If you go to Kelowna go eat there. After Quail's Gate, we went on over to Mission Hill and can I say I was in no way shape or form expecting what we came to. Mission Hill is this immaculate property with architecture that reminiscent of something you'd find in the middle ages or something. It's beautiful. We explored the property and in doing so continued to be amazed. We also visited Summerhill winery with it's famous marble pyramid, Tantalus, Cedar Creek, and a bunch more I can't even remember the names of (whoops!).  The weekend Progressed on by visiting more wineries, visiting an alpine goat cheese, swimming at the hotel, relaxing and eating good food! All in all it was a beautiful weekend away with family, food, beautiful sights and good wine. I'm hoping you all had amazing Easters with your loved ones close by.

My picks for Kelowna:

Favourite Winery for the wine : Summer Hill

Favourite  Winery Architecture: Mission Hill  + Cedar Creek

Best Food : Old Vines at Quail's Gate

Best Breakfast Place : Bohemian Cafe

Until next time friends,
